About yourself:

As a qualified Mechatronics Engineer, a graduate of UCT (University of Cape Town) and currently an employed engineer at Denel (South Africa's largest armament manufacturer), it gives me great pleasure to draw up this profile on my academic achievements.
I have enjoyed full scholarships throughout the four years of my degree at UCT and have performed consistently well throughout my academic career, receiving numerous awards and certificates over that period.
My latest notable achievement was receiving a distinction on my thesis project, which I pride myself on, due to the many challenges I've had to overcome to reach that stage of my academic life.
I reside in Benoni and I'm willing to work with motivated learners/students.
I prefer to work with younger learners/students desiring to follow a similar career path, whom I may mentor and assist in achieving their goals. My students also have the option of viewing my CV and gaining my assistance in drawing up their own.

Teaching experience:

As a 90% plus learner throughout my schooling career, I often tutored my classmates, younger friends and family.
Throughout my campus career I have tutored younger students. As an engineer, my mathematics, I.T and physics skills are considerably strong.
I served on the engineering mentor program at the University of Cape Town for THREE years, where I guided and motivated first year engineering students overcome the challenges faced by a freshman.
Throughout my academic career, I have come to realise that the best way to learn is by teaching others, which I have been doing since my early days at school.

Approach to tutoring:

One of my key approaches to teaching individuals is that I don't have a particular 'approach', simply due the fact that 'no two' students grasp concepts the same, different teaching methods work for different minds and therefore, I begin by posing a few bench mark questions to figure out roughly where my student stands and thereafter go back to basics, paying extra attention to what I feel is relevant to that particular learner.
As we progress, questions will be asked and worked through with the learner. The intensity of the questions will increase with the improvement made by the learner. "It does not matter how slowly you going, just as long as you do not stop." anonymous
From personal experience Math is a subject mastered through repetition and worked solutions.
